After scoring the fastest 50 of IPL 2026 in just 15 balls, the Rajasthan Royals defeated the Chennai Super Kings in Guwahati. The match was a complete domination of the Rajasthan Royals in terms of batting and bowling. The Chennai Super Kings squad has no answer to the difficult questions asked by the Rajasthan Royals players. Rajasthan Royals showcase stability and finished the inning by beating Chennai Super Kings with 47 balls left.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the rising star of Rajasthan Royals, scored the fastest 50 of IPL in just 15 balls. The Rajasthan Royals finished the run chase in just 12.4 overs with 8 wickets still in hand. Multiple problems were faced by the Chennai Super Kings team during the match, including their poor batting performance and uncertain bowling lineup.
Difficult start for CSK
The Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to bowl first in the Barsapara Stadium, Guwahati. The difficulty for the Chennai Super Kings campaign started from the second over itself, where Nandre Burger dismissed Sanju Samson. Nandre Burger bowled a cracking delivery at a speed of 140.2 kmph. Sanju Samson tried to play across the line and missed it altogether, and a ball directly hit the office term to depart him for a low score of 6.
The trouble for CSK doesn't stop here, as the captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad, also lost his wicket against Jofra Archer. By the end of the power play in the 5th over, RR strike again in the form of Sandeep Sharma. Sandeep Sharma caught Yashasvi Jaiswal with a slower ball. The end of the power play score for CSK was 41 for 4 wickets.
The revenge of Jadeja
One of the highlights of the game is the performance of Ravindra Jadeja. In the very first over of Ravindra Jadeja from the Rajasthan Royals franchise, Jadeja showcased his experience and picked up two massive wickets. He dismissed Sarfaraz Khan in the 2nd ball of the 7th over and caught out Shivam Dube in the 6th ball of the 7th over.
The bowling performance of Rabindra Jadeja was remarkable, along with the other bowlers of RR. The CSK team was bowled out by 19.4 overs with Jofra Archer, Nandre Burger, and Ravindra Jadeja taking 2 wickets each. All the bowlers of the Rajasthan Royals played remarkably within an economy of less than 8 each. After constant struggle, CSK was only able to put up a score of 127.
Dynamic start of chase
To open the innings from the Rajasthan Royals campaign, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi stepped in as the openers. From the very first over itself, Vaibhav Suryavanshi clear his intent and started aggressive hitting with a maximum and a four, in the first over. A total of 18 runs was scored in the first over itself. In the fifth ball of the fifth over, Vaibhav Suryavanshi completed his half-century. this half century makes him the fastest half-century in IPL 2025.
By the end of the power play, the score for the Rajasthan Royals was 74 for no wickets. Multiple mistakes were made by CSK in the power play, including Kartik Sharma dropping a catch, which might have dismissed Vaibhav Suryavanshi on zero OR CSK losing a review on the first ball of Khaleel Ahmed against Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
Finally, after constant struggling, CSK was able to find a breakthrough by coating out Vaibhav Suryavanshi. A youngster, Anshul Kamboj, was able to dismiss Vaibhav Suryavanshi by delivering a length ball outside the off-stump, which got picked up by Suryavanshi; however, the field set up was completely designed to make him caught.
Big win for RR
Even after losing 2 wickets, the captain Riyan Parag, along with the opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, finished the inning and got a secure and massive victory for their team. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 38 runs from 36 balls, while the captain scored 14 runs from 11 balls.
It was a complete team game from the Rajasthan Royals, and each individual played their part perfectly. On the other hand, the Chennai Super Kings campaign will have to reach their strategies and fix their problems. The next match for CSK is with Punjab Kings on 3rd April, and the next match for RR is on 4th April against GT.
