Rinku Singh’s Father Passes Away After Prolonged Illness

Rinku Singh’s father, Khanchand Singh, died of liver cancer after a prolonged illness. He had been undergoing treatment at Yatharth Hospital, where his condition worsened a few days before his death.

The mortal remains were later taken to Aligarh, where Rinku took part in the final rites of the deceased, carrying the body of his late father himself.

Sudden Departure of Rinku from the Team Camp

Though he had been with the Indian team earlier, Rinku Singh had to rush to New Delhi very early in the morning after hearing the sad news. It is worth recalling that the cricketer had recently rejoined the national camp ahead of India’s Super 8 match against the Zimbabwe cricket team at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium.

However, the cricketer had not been selected to play the match. Instead, Sanju Samson had been selected to open the innings with Abhishek Sharma.

Condolences from the BCCI and the UPCA

The Board of Control for Cricket in India had also condoled the sad demise of the cricketer. In fact, the Board’s secretary, Devajit Saikia, had confirmed that the cricketer would not be traveling with the team to Kolkata to play the Super 8 match against the West Indies cricket team.

In the meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh cricket association had issued a condolence message, with the UPCA chief, Prem Manohar Gupta, pointing out that the family had been looking forward to better days, with the wedding of the cricketer having been fixed recently.
